Kosmos 152 (Russian:Космос 152 meaningCosmos 152), also known asDS-P1-Yu No.7 was aSovietsatellite which was used as a radar calibration target for tests ofanti-ballistic missiles.[2] It was built by theYuzhnoye Design Bureau, and launched in 1967 as part of theDnepropetrovsk Sputnik programme,[3] and had a mass of 325 kilograms (717 lb).[1]

Kosmos 152 was launched using aKosmos-2I 63SM carrier rocket, which flew fromSite 133/3 atPlesetsk Cosmodrome.[4] The launch occurred at 06:57 GMT on 25 March 1967.[5]

Kosmos 152 separated from its carrier rocket into alow Earth orbit with aperigee of 272 kilometres (169 mi), anapogee of 488 kilometres (303 mi), aninclination of 71.0°, and anorbital period of 92.2 minutes.[6] Itdecayed from orbit on 5 August 1967.[7] Kosmos 152 was the seventh of seventy nineDS-P1-Yu satellites to be launched,[3] and the sixth of seventy two to successfully reach orbit.
