Korin Japanese Trading Company provides expensivekitchen knives from Japan. In addition to their own brand, they sellMasamoto, Misono,Glestain, andSuisin, at prices from under $50 to over $3,000. Founded in 1982 bySakai, Osaka knife sharpenerChiharu Sugai andSaori Kawano as awholesaler to thefood service industry, Korin began selling to the public in 2001 and has become popular amongcelebrity chefs as well as serious cooks and collectors of finecutlery.^[1] Korin showroom is located in Tribeca, on 57 Warren Street.[1]

Misono knives are used in the kitchen at theWhite House, the residence of thepresident of the United States inWashington, D.C.^[2]
