Komi Nje (Ԋ ԋ; italics:Ԋ ԋ) is a letter of theMolodtsov alphabet, a variant ofCyrillic.[1] It was used only in the writing of theKomi language in the 1920s.[2]
Its form is similar to theLatin letter Hwair (⟨Ƕ ƕ⟩), but the lowercase form is a small version of the capital letter. Komi Nje represents thepalatal nasal/ɲ/, somewhat like the pronunciation of⟨ni⟩ in "onion". It corresponds to theCyrillic letter Nje (Њ њ), and to theLatin digraph NJ (NJ Nj nj) used in theCroatian and Serbian languages.
