Kollel Bet Mordechai (The Beit MordechaiCampus Kollel) is akollel andbet midrash inJohannesburg,South Africa. It is associated withMizrachi and is based at theYeshiva College of South Africa.
The Kollel facilitates advanced, as well as communityTorah learning on a daily basis.[1] Advancedyeshiva studies in itskollel include dailyshiurim inTalmud withRishonim, and inhalacha. Several Kollel members have so far receivedSemicha; the examination by Rabbi Yaacov Warhaftig ofMachon Ariel inJerusalem.Community focused activities range from individualisedchavruta-based study topublicshiurim.Daf yomi is offered three times daily, with a weekly "overview" for Women;Mishnah Berurah Yomit andTzurba M’Rabanan are also offered.
The Kollel isheaded jointly by RabbiNechemya Taylor and RabbiLevy Wineberg[2] (previouslyRosh Yeshiva of theRabbinical College of Pretoria); previously Rabbi Dr.Shlomo Glicksberg jointly headed the Kollel, assuming the role from Rabbi Avraham Amitai[3] in September 2014. It was originally led by Rabbi Doron Podlashuk,[4] with RabbiSimcha Krauss as acting Rosh Kollel.
