Bo Kwon is the owner.[ 6] [ 7] He was inspired byRoy Choi 'sKogi Korean BBQ in Los Angeles.[ 8] [ 9] Early on, he would share where his Koi Fusion food cart was located via social media.[ 10] [ 11]
In 2010, Kwon opened K'fusion on Second Avenue insouthwest Portland .[ 12] Koi Fusion began operating atPortland International Airport in 2014.[ 13] [ 14] A food cart was burglarized at 20th Avenue and West Burnside Street in 2017.[ 15] Kwon opened a Koi Fusion shop inWilsonville in 2017.[ 16]
Koi Fusion has also operated on Division Street insoutheast Portland and atProst Marketplace in thenorth Portland part of theBoise neighborhood.[ 17] [ 18]
Koi Fusion was a runner-up in the Best Food Cart category ofWillamette Week 's annual 'Best of Portland' readers' poll in 2010 and 2015.[ 19] [ 20]
