Kogakkan University (皇學館大学,Kōgakkan daigaku) is aprivate university atIse, Mie,Japan. The predecessor of the school was founded in 1882, and it was chartered as a university in 1940.
Kogakkan University is one of only two universities in Japan to offer aShinto studies program, whose graduates earn the qualifications needed to become akannushi (Shinto priest).[1][2] The other university to offer such a program isKokugakuin University in Tokyo.
