Kodimoottil Sri Bhadrakaali Temple is the most famous temple inParippally,Kollam inKerala,India. The "Prathista" (idol) in this temple isBhadrakali devi. Shiva, Ganapathi, Navagrahangal are also there as Upaprathista.
This temple is located with thegeographic coordinates of8°48′52.6″N76°45′38.6″E / 8.814611°N 76.760722°E /8.814611; 76.760722 at an altitude of about 78.51 m above the mean sea level.
There are a number ofutsavams in this temple. The mahotsavam is held every year during the month of March for ten days, starting with thepongala. Ladies from all parts ofKollam andTrivandrum districts participate in it.[1][2] Gajamela, an elephant procession, is the main attraction of the Mahotsavam, which occurs on the tenth day.[3]
The temple is managed byEzhava (Chekaver) community, but people from all castes participate in the festival. Navarathri is also celebrated here as a festival.
