Kirsteen Ann Sullivan[1] is a British politician who has been theMember of Parliament forBathgate and Linlithgow since2024. A member of theLabour and Co-operative Party, she gained the seat fromMartyn Day, a member of theScottish National Party.[2][3]
Sullivan studied atGlasgow University andStrathclyde Business School.[4]
Sullivan has worked as a business analyst for several private companies, includingScottish Widows.[4] Prior to becoming an MP, Sullivan served as a councillor forWhitburn andBlackburn in West Lothian.[4] Sullivan served as Labour depute leader ofWest Lothian Council from 2017 to 2024.[4][3]
On 4 July 2024, she was elected as MP forBathgate and Linlithgow. She received 19,774votes (47%) in the general election in a new constituency formed as a result of the2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies.[5] On 26 July 2024, she made hermaiden speech in the House of Commons during a debate on "Making Britain a Clean Energy Superpower".[6]
Sullivan lives inBathgate and is originally fromGlasgow.[4] She has three children.[4] As of 2024[update] she owns a second home in Spain.[7]
