Kirralie Smith is an Australian anti-trans,[ 1] [ 2] anti-halal,[ 3] and anti-gay marriage activist.
Smith is a member of the far-rightQ Society . In 2017, the society publicly apologized to a halal certifier as part of a settlement to defamation lawsuit stemming from videos starring Smith.[ 4] At a Q Society fundraiser, Smith said that she was anti-Islam but not anti-Muslims.[ 5]
Australian Liberty Alliance, Australian Conservatives[ edit ] On 7 April 2017, Smith, a former candidate for theAustralian Liberty Alliance and Senate candidate for New South Wales in 2016, joined theAustralian Conservatives .[ 6] [ 7]
Marriage Alliance, Binary Australia[ edit ] Smith was a leading figure in theMarriage Alliance group that campaigned againstsame-sex marriage in Australia . After same-sex marriage was legalized, the organization rebranded asBinary Australia to oppose intersex andtransgender rights .[ 8] [ 9] In 2025, a court granted anapprehended violence order against Smith originating from tweets targeting a trans football player.[ 10] The court found Smith's tweets to be "highly intimidatory".[ 11]
