Kiran Segal is an Indian classical dancer known for her proficiency inOdissi,[1] a classical dance form from the state of Odisha in eastern part of India.[2] She is the daughter of actorZohra Segal,[3] a 1998 winner ofPadma Shri award and has written a book,Zohra Segal - Fatty, on her mother.[2][3] A disciple ofM. K. Saroja,[4] Segal has performed at various stages around the world.[5][6] She was honored by theGovernment of India, in 2002, with the fourth highestIndian civilian award ofPadma Shri.[7]
