Kintore inAberdeenshire was aroyal burgh that returned onecommissioner to theParliament of Scotland and to theConvention of Estates.
The Parliament of Scotland ceased to exist with theAct of Union 1707, and the commissioner for Kintore,Sir George Allardice, was one ofthose co-opted to represent Scotland in the firstParliament of Great Britain. From the1708 general electionBanff,Cullen,Elgin,Inverurie and Kintore comprised theElgindistrict of burghs, electing one Member of Parliament between them.
