Kimberly Ann Director is an American actress. She has played the roles of Kim Diamond inBook of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 (2000), and Stevie inInside Man (2006). She appeared as a recurring guest star on theHBO seriesThe Deuce (2017–2019)

Early life

Raised in suburbanPittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Director graduated fromUpper St. Clair High School inUpper St. Clair in 1993.[1] She graduated fromCarnegie Mellon University in 1997.[1]

Career

Director's first film role was in 1998'sHe Got Game, directed bySpike Lee.[2] This was followed bySummer of Sam in 1999 andBamboozled in 2000, both films also directed by Lee.[2] Her breakout performance came in the filmBook of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 as the hard-core Goth girl, Kim Diamond.[3][4] She went on to act in the independent filmsUnforeseen,Tony n' Tina's Wedding,Charlie's Party,Live Free or Die,Life is Short, andA Crime with Harvey Keitel.[5] Director reunited with Spike Lee for the filmShe Hate Me in 2004, and in 2006 played Stevie the bank robber in Lee'sInside Man.[2]

Kim Director has appeared in guest roles on television showsSex and the City,Law & Order,Law & Order: Criminal Intent,CSI: Miami,Shark,Life,Cold Case,Unforgettable, andOrange is the New Black. She had a recurring role as the Cavewoman on the seriesCavemen.[5]

Her later roles includeHBO'sThe Deuce and the Bianca in theNetflix seriesShe's Gotta Have It.[6]

Director is a trained stage actress and appeared in the Stephen Sondheim and George Furth musicalCompany at the Kennedy Center. She also appeared in the playGuinea Pig Solo by Brett C. Leonard at the Public Theater with LAByrinth Theater Company (Philip Seymour Hoffman and John Ortiz, artistic directors). She also worked at the Rattlestick Playwrights Theater in New York in the playThe Wood written by Dan Klores and directed by David Bar Katz.[citation needed]
