Kilmallock GAA is aGaelic Athletic Association club inKilmallock,County Limerick,Ireland. The club is primarily concerned with the game ofhurling, but has also fielded teams inGaelic football.

History

Located in the town ofKilmallock, about 20 miles outsideLimerick, Kilmallock GAA Club was founded in 1885.[1] Kilmallock's earliest successes where inGaelic football, with the club claimingLimerick SFC titles in 1908, 1909 and 1916.[2][3] Kilmallock made the hurling breakthrough in 1956 when they won theLimerick JHC title and earned promotion to the senior grade.[4]

Four years after that initial junior triumph, Kilmallock won theLimerick SHC title after a defeat ofClaughaun in 1960.[5] A second Limerick SHC title followed in 1967, before Kilmallock claimed three successive titles between 1973 and 1975.[6][7] The club also wonMunster Club SHC titles in 1992 and 1994, as well as losing toSarsfields in the1993 All-Ireland club final.[8][9]

The new century saw Kilmallock secure a number of underage titles in the minor and under-21 grades.[10][11] The club also won three Limerick SHC titles in a five-year period between 2010 and 2014, as well as a third Munster Club SHC title in 2014[12][13] Kilmallock also had a 1-18 to 1-06 defeat byBallyhale Shamrocks in the2015 All-Ireland club final.[14] The club claimed their 12th Limerick SHC title in 2021..[15]
