Kermanshah County (Persian :شهرستان کرمانشاه ) is inKermanshah province, Iran. Its capital is the city ofKermanshah .[ 3] [ a]
After the 2006 National Census,Posht Darband andRazavar Rural Districts were separated from theCentral District in the formation ofBilavar District .[ 5] Qaleh was elevated to the status of a city.[ 6]
A majority in Kermanshah are Shia Muslims, with minorities of Sunni Muslims and believers ofYarsanism .[ 7] [ 8]
At the time of the 2006 census, the county's population was 950,400 in 235,408 households.[ 9] [ 10] [ 2]
