Kennack to Coverack is a coastalSite of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) on the Lizard Peninsula inCornwall,England,UK, noted for both itsbiological andgeological interest. It is of botanical importance, with 8Red Data Book of rare and endangered plant species being found on the site as well as other nationally scarce varieties.[1]
The 266-hectare (660-acre) site, nominated in 1951, is situated on the east coast of theLizard Peninsula, mainly within the civil parish ofSt Keverne, starting atKennack Sands in the west continuing along theEnglish Channel ending at Perprean Cove outsideCoverack in the east. The site also includes some separate inland areas.[2][3]
TheSouth West Coast Path runs through the SSSI and part of the coastline is owned by theNational Trust.[3] The site falls partly within theLizardNational Nature Reserve and contains twoGeological Conservation Review locations.[1]
