Ken Rosato is anAmerican journalist who served as the morning anchor forWABC-TV inNew York City from 2007 until 2023.[1]
Rosato graduated fromRegis High School inNew York City. He then pursued abachelor's degree in Film, TV, and Radio atNew York University. Following his undergraduate studies, Rosato obtained amaster's degree inSpanish andItalian.[2]
Before his tenure at WABC-TV, Rosato worked as an anchor and reporter atWNYW in New York City from 2002 to 2003. He also spent time inMiami/Fort Lauderdale, Florida, as an anchor atWFOR-TV from 1998 to 2002. Additionally, Rosato worked as an anchor for1010 WINS radio in New York City.[3] He held the positions of news director and main anchor atWLNY-TV (now owned byCBS), andWBLI Long Island (where he was known as "Ken Rhodes"). He was also a program director anddisc jockey atWVIPMount Kisco, New York.[1][4]
Rosato joinedWABC-TV in 2003 as a freelance reporter.[1] On July 6, 2007, it was announced that Rosato would be joiningLori Stokes andBill Evans as a co-anchor onEyewitness News This Morning andEyewitness News at Noon.[5] Rosato replaced reporter Steve Bartelstein, who had been fired a few months earlier.[6]
Rosato received anEmmy Award for his reporting on asteam pipe explosion in New York City on July 19, 2007.[7][8]
In April 2010, Rosato announced that he underwent surgery to remove a non-functioningkidney.[9]
In May 2023, Rosato was dismissed from WABC. According to reports, he made an offensive comment while with a co-worker.
