Katsuya Miyahira (宮平 勝哉,Miyahira Katsuya, 1918–2010)[2] was anOkinawanmartial artist who was the grand master of theShorin-ryuShido-kan style of OkinawanKarate[1] and the president of the Okinawa Shorin-ryu Karate Association.[1] He was rankedHanshi, 10thDan. Miyahira created the Shido-kan branch ofKobayashi Shorin-ryu after the death of his teacher,Chōshin Chibana.[1] Miyahira was also instructed by Anbun Tokuda andChoki Motobu.
