Kathrine Møller Kühl (Danish:[ˈkʰaːtʁə.nəˈmœlˀɐ],German:[kyːl];[2] born 5 July 2003) is a Danish professionalfootballer who plays as adefensive midfielder forSerie A clubAS Roma and theDenmark national team. She won her first senior internationalcap in 2021.
Møller Kühl joinedHillerød Fodbold at five years old, and remained with the club for nine years. She joinedFC Nordsjælland in 2018.[3] She made her debut againstFC Thy-Thisted Q, and she has since been a regular part of the team's starting line-up.[4] In July 2020, she was named Cup Fighter of the Year when FC Nordsjælland won the2019–20 Danish Cup. After the match, she was highly praised by several media outlets for her good performance and was also compared to the Danish national team starPernille Harder.[5][6] The same season she also helped win bronze for the team, in the club's first season in the league.[7]
Arsenal announced the signing of Møller Kühl on 7 January 2023.[8] On 26 January, she made her Arsenal debut, coming off the bench in the 67th minute in theFA Women's League Cup quarterfinal game againstAston Villa.[9]
Arsenal announced her loan toEverton on 13 January 2024 until the end of the2023–24 season. She made her debut on the same day in the 3–0 victory overAston Villa in theFA Cup, coming on as a substitute forKaroline Olesen in the 70th minute.[10] She scored her first goal for the club againstNottingham Forest in the FA Cup, opening scoring in the 7–1 victory and assisting a goal.[11]
On 18 January 2025, Møller Kühl was announced at AS Roma on a two year contract, with the option of a further year.[12]
Her first call-up to the U/17 national team was on 28 February 2019, against Norway inSilkeborg. Her team won 5-2.[13] She substituted in the 46th minute as a replacement forSofie Bredgaard. She took part in the2019 U/17 European Championship in Bulgaria,[14] where the team did not progress from the group stage. Kühl officially played two games at the tournament. She has officially played 19 U-national matches, most recently in March 2020.
In March 2021, she was selected by national coachLars Søndergaard for the senior national team for a friendly match againstWales, in a 1–1friendly draw atCardiff City Stadium.[15] She was an 81st-minutesubstitute forEmma Snerle.[16] She was in the squad for the subsequent friendlies, where she also started in the starting line-up, in Denmark's 3–2 win overAustralia.[17]
She was part of the Denmark team at the2023 World Cup.[18] She was the youngest player in the squad. She finished in the top 10 for distance covered, dribbles, and tackles in the tournament.[19]
