Katembri (Catrimbi [sic],Kariri de Mirandela, Mirandela) was a divergent language ofBahia, northeastern Brazil. It is known only from about 100 words collected in the early 1960s from João Manoel Domingo, an elderly rememberer with vague memories of the language. Kaufman (1990) has linked it with the nearly extinctTaruma, although this has not been accepted by other scholars.[1]

Katembri was spoken at the mission ofSaco dos Morcegos, now known asMirandela, Bahia.[2]
