Katakatala Rudrayya is a 1978 IndianTelugu-language film written and directed byDasari Narayana Rao. It starsKrishnam Raju,Jayasudha,Ramakrishna andJayachitra. The film has music composed byJ. V. Raghavulu. It is remade inTamil asPattakkathi Bhairavan (1979) withSivaji Ganesan and inHindi (1980) asJyoti Bane Jwala withJeetendra.[1]
Griddaluru Gopalrao writing forZamin Ryot on 27 October 1978 opined that the film was cut off from reality, and would remain as "an old coin which is no longer a legal tender." He added that the screenplay by Dasari and soundtrack composed by Raghavulu are forgettable.[2]
Katakataala Rudrayya andMana Voori Pandavulu were released within a gap of 10 days.[3] The film was a blockbuster at the box office.
