Kassius Hope A. Nelson (born 24 June 1997) is an English actress and playwright. She won twoBritish Soap Awards for her role inHollyoaks (2015–2017) onChannel 4. She has since appeared in theNetflix seriesWhite Lines (2020) andDead Boy Detectives (2024), and the filmPirates (2021).

Early life

Nelson was born inIslington, North London. She was a performing arts student atCity and Islington Sixth Form College.[1]

Career

Nelson first appeared on screen in the independent filmLone Rivers. She was 18[2] when she made her television debut in 2015 and began playingJade Albright in theChannel 4 soap operaHollyoaks.[3] She and Richard Linnell wonBest On-Screen Partnership and Scene of the Year at the 2017British Soap Awards.

With Islington Community Theatre and the charitable Company Three theatre company, Nelson helped to put on a number of productions, includingBrainstorm at theNational Theatre. In 2018, Nelson wrote and co-directedMoon-stained at theGerry's Stronger Than Fear Festival.[4]

Nelson joined the recurring cast of theNetflix adaptation ofA Series of Unfortunate Events for its third and final season as Fiona Widdershins.[5] She then played a younger version ofAngela Griffin's character Anna Connor inWhite Lines the following year, also on Netflix.[6]

In 2021, Nelson made her feature film debut when she appeared inEdgar Wright'sLast Night in Soho[7] and starred inReggie Yates'Pirates. She was cast as Crystal Palace in theDC Universe seriesDead Boy Detectives, also on Netflix, taking over the role fromDoom Patrol's Madalyn Horcher.[8]
