Kashasha is a ward on the western coast ofLake Victoria in theMuleba District of theKagera Region,Tanzania, near the border ofUganda. The village is known for having been the locus of theTanganyika laughter epidemic of 1962.[2]

In 2016 theTanzania National Bureau of Statistics report there were 12,508 people in the ward, from 11,021 in 2012.[1]: 139 [3]: 166
