Karl Olive (French pronunciation:[kaʁlɔliv]; born 29 March 1969) is a French sports journalist, television producer, entrepreneur and politician who has represented the12th constituency of theYvelinesdepartment in theNational Assembly since2022.[1] He is a former member ofThe Republicans (LR), which he left in 2019 prior to joiningLa République En Marche! (LREM, now Renaissance) in 2022.
Olive served as Mayor ofPoissy from2014 until his resignation in 2022 following his election to Parliament. In the National Assembly, he succeededFlorence Granjus who did not run for reelection, winningelection as adeputy with 59.9% of the second-round vote. Olive has also held a seat in theDepartmental Council of Yvelines since2015 for thecanton of Poissy.
Amid the firstYellow vests protests in 2018, Olive brought a group of mayors from his department, Yvelines, together withPresidentEmmanuel Macron to explain to Macron how he needed to change.[2]
Olive is the brother of former footballerBrigitte Henriques.[3]
