Karipur (also speltKarippur) is a locality in theKondottytaluk of theMalappuram district of Kerala, India, 25 km (16 mi) from the city ofMalappuram. It is best known as the site ofCalicut International Airport, mainly serving travellers of theSouth Malabar region. Other than that, it is a small hamlet that falls under the jurisdiction ofKondottyMunicipality andPallikkalgram panchayat. Karipur forms a portion of theMalappuram metropolitan area as of2011 census.[1]
