Karipuna is an extinctPanoan language formerly spoken in the state ofRondônia in Brazil. It may have been a dialect ofChácobo.[2] It was also known asEʼloê,[1] as well asJau-Navo andJaunavô, based on the self-denominationJaũn Àvo.[3] It is primarily known from a number of wordlists recorded by various explorers of the Amazon region, includingJohann Natterer andCarl Friedrich Philipp von Martius,[4] as well as by theRondon Commission.[1]
