Helmut Kickton (born 28 June 1956 inCologne,[1]West Germany) is a German church musician, publisher andmulti-instrumentalist.

Kickton studiedchurch music at theRobert Schumann Hochschule inDüsseldorf with Hans-Dieter Möller and Hartmut Schmidt. In 1986 he passed his examination (A) with distinction forimprovisation andmusic history.[2] The following years he learned to play most common instruments. He regularly performs on the organ,recorder,[3]violin,[4]viola,[5]cello,[6]double bass,[7]euphonium,guitar[8] andkettledrums.

Since 1987 he has beencantor of thediakonie church inBad Kreuznach. Together with thekreuznacher-diakonie-kantorei he developed the model of theIntegrative Kantorei, which unites voices and instruments.[9] Inspired by historical sources, in 2000 he introduced the layout with the choir in front of the orchestra.

In 2002[10] he founded thekantoreiarchiv of freedigital sheet music.[11] He published more than 20000 files[12] (PDF) forchoir,orchestra,brass band,recorder andorgan.
