Kamogata (鴨方町,Kamogata-chō) was atown located inAsakuchi District in the south-west ofOkayama Prefecture,Japan. On March 21, 2006, Kamogata, along with the towns ofKonkō andYorishima (all fromAsakuchi District), was merged to create the city ofAsakuchi.[1]
As of 2003, the town had an estimatedpopulation of 18,446 and adensity of 506.20 persons per km2. The total area was 36.44 km2.
Sandwiched between mountainous forests to the north and south, the central part of Kamogata remains relatively flat.
