Kamień Lagoon is a lagoon on theOder River in north-westernPoland. It is part of theDziwna.
Both the lagoon and theDziwna are part of Poland'sinternal waters.[citation needed]
Several settlements lie on the shores of the lagoon, notably (in order of population)Kamień Pomorski,Dziwnów,Międzywodzie,Wrzosowo andDziwnówek. There are also three small villages onChrząszczewska Island:Chrząszczewo,Chrząszczewko andBuniewice.
Until 1945, the lagoon was referred to by its German name ofCamminer Bodden.[citation needed] In 1949, it officially became calledKamieński Zalew,[citation needed] and in 1991 the words in its name were reversed, its new name beingZalew Kamieński.[citation needed]
