Kafr Safra (Arabic:كفر صفرة, also spelledKafar Safra;Kurdish:Kefersefrê)[2] is a village in northernSyria, administratively part of theAfrin District of theAleppo Governorate, located northwest ofAleppo. Nearby localities includeShaykh al-Hadid to the north, Qarah Bash to the east andJindires to the south. According to theSyria Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Kafr Safra had a population of 2,150 in the 2004 census.[1]
In late 19th century, German orientalistMartin Hartmann noted Kefer Safra as a settlement with 10 houses inhabited byKurds.[3]
