TheKadalundi Bird Sanctuary lies inKadalundi grama panchayat ofKozhikode district andVallikkunnu Grama Panchayat ofMalappuram district inKerala,India.[1] It spreads over a cluster of islands where theKadalundi River flows into theArabian Sea. The Sanctuary hill is around 200 metres (660 ft) above sea level. It is located 19 kilometres (12 mi) away from theKozhikode city centre.[1]

Over a hundred species of native birds have been recorded in the sanctuary, including about 60 species ofmigratory birds which visit seasonally; these includeterns,gulls,herons,sandpipers andcormorants. Notable species arewhimbrels andbrahminy kites. The sanctuary is well known for a wide variety offish,mussels andcrabs.[1] Some species of snakes, cobras, vipers and kraits also live here.[2]
