KV38 is anancient Egyptian tomb located in theValley of the Kings inEgypt. It was used for the reburial ofPharaohThutmose I of theEighteenth Dynasty, and was where his body was removed to (fromKV20) byThutmose III before ultimately being relocated to theRoyal Cache, located inDeir el-Bahri, during theThird Intermediate Period of Egypt.
On fragments of the background of the burial chamber, it was discovered that the tomb also contained portions of theAmduat, a funerary text commonly found in royal tombs of the period intended to guide deceased royalty through theafterlife.[1]
