KTXW (1120AM) is acommercialradio stationlicensed toManor, Texas, and serving theGreater Austinradio market. The station broadcasts aChristian talk and teachingradio format. It is owned by GLG Media, Inc.
KTXW is powered at 5,600watts daytime, but becauseAM 1120 is aclear channel frequency reserved forKMOX inSt. Louis, KTXW must reduce power at night to 155 watts to avoid interference. KTXW is also heard onFMtranslator station K266CI at 101.1 MHz inAustin.[2]
KTXW airs both national and local religious shows, using abrokered programming arrangement. Hosts pay for their time on the air and may seek donations to support their ministry. National religious leaders heard on KTXW includeCharles Stanley,Chuck Swindoll,David Jeremiah, andJim Daly.[3] KTXW also carriessyndicatedtalk shows from theSalem Radio Network, hosted byEric Metaxas andJay Sekulow.
The station firstsigned on the air in 2010 as KIXL.[4] Originally the 1120 kHz frequency was assigned toCleburne, Texas, nearDallas. KCLE had been on the air from 1947 to 2008, when it moved toAM 1140, getting a boost in power and better coverage of theDallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. It now has the callsign KCPP.
KCLE's move to another frequency created the opportunity for AM 1120 to go on the air in the Austinradio market.
