TheKorea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) is aSouth Koreanpublicnatural gas company that was established by theKorean government in 1983. KOGAS has grown into the largestLNG-importing company in the world[1] and operates fourLNGregasification terminals and 4,945 km ofnatural gaspipelines inSouth Korea.
The company has a stake in the Prelude floatingliquefied natural gas facility in Australia, along with investorsShell, Inpex Corporation, andCPC Corporation. It is the largest floating production structure in the world.[2] Production started in December 2018.[3]
The company started in 1983. The company was the first company to introduce liquefied natural gas to domestic markets in the country in 1986.[4]
