TheKN-3 reactor (VM-16) is thenuclear reactor used in pairs to power theKirov-classbattlecruisers. The reactor was also intended to be used on theUlyanovsk class ofsupercarriers. It is apressurized water reactor (PWR), usingenricheduranium-235 fuel to produce300 MW of power.[1]

It was developed byOKBM Afrikantov.
