The station is owned byEducational Media Foundation and broadcasts theChristian adult contemporary format of itsnationally syndicatedK-Love network. KLXP issimulcast ontranslator stationK236AW (95.1 FM) inLancaster, California.
The station first signed on February 3, 1991 as KGBM. Originally owned byPalmdale-based Grace Broadcasting, it aired aChristian music and talk format.[1]
In 2002, Grace Broadcasting sold KGBM toEducational Media Foundation (EMF) for an undisclosed amount.[2] EMF then flipped the station to itsAir1 network, which at the time broadcast aChristian rock format.
On July 8, 2016, the station changed itscall sign to KLXP and began airingK-Love, EMF'sChristian adult contemporary music network.
