Košarkaški klub FMP (Serbian Cyrillic:Кошаркашки клуб ФMП), commonly referred to asKK FMP or asFMP Soccerbet due to sponsorship reasons, is a men's professionalbasketballclub based inBelgrade, Serbia. The club plays in theABA League, theBasketball League of Serbia, and theBasketball Champions League.[1] Their home arena is theŽeleznik Hall.
The club was founded inNovi Sad in 1970 asKK Radnički, and was later relocated to Belgrade. Between 2021 and 2024, it was known asKK FMP Meridian.[2] The club considers itself as the successor of the'original' FMP.[3][4][5]
The club was formed in 1970 asKK Radnički fromNovi Sad. The club had played in regional leagues until 2006, when new sponsors on board, Invest Inženjering and Park Hotel.[6] The club moved to thetop-tier Serbian League in 2007 and played in that competition in their last two seasons (2007–08 and2008–09). During the 2008–09 season, guardZlatko Bolić led the league with 22.8 points per game.
In 2009, Radnički was relocated toBelgrade and changed its name toKK Radnički Basket[7] to distinguish it from well-knownRadnički Belgrade. Two years later, the club changed its name toKK Radnički FMP.[1]
In the2016–17 season, FMP made a debut in theABA League and finished in 9th place in the end of the season. Power forwardJonah Bolden was awarded theABA League Top Prospect title after averaging 12.9 points and 7.2 rebounds per game in his rookie season.[8]
In December 2020, the club became ashareholder of theAdriatic Basketball Association, following a transfer ofshares fromMetalac Valjevo.[9] On 18 November 2021, the club changed its name toFMP Meridian for the 2021–22 season due to sponsorship reasons.[10][11] In June 2022, FMP confirmed to join theBasketball Champions League for the2022–23 season, hosting aqualifying round in Belgrade.[12][13]
