KFIA (710kHz) is acommercialAMradio station broadcasting aChristian talk and teachingformat.Licensed toCarmichael, California, the station serves theSacramento metropolitan area. The station is currently owned by New Inspiration Broadcasting Company, Inc. which is a part ofSalem Media Group.[2]
KFIA is powered at 25,000watts by day. But because710 AM is aclear channel frequency reserved forClass A stationsKIROSeattle andWORNew York City, KFIA must greatly reduce power at night to 1,000 watts. It uses adirectional antenna at all times. Thetransmitter is off North Foothills Boulevard at Athens Avenue inRocklin.[3] KFIA programming is also heard on 250 wattFM translatorK289CT 105.7MHz inSacramento.[4]
Most of KFIA's schedule isbrokered programming where religious leaders pay for time on the station and may seek donations to their ministries during their shows.
