Juwan Johnson (born September 13, 1996) is an American professionalfootballtight end for theNew Orleans Saints of theNational Football League (NFL). He playedcollege football for thePenn State Nittany Lions andOregon Ducks and signed with the Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2020.

Born inStratford, New Jersey, Johnson was raised inGlassboro, New Jersey and playedprep football atGlassboro High School.[1]

College career

Johnson playedcollege football atPenn State from 2015 to 2018 before transferring toOregon for his senior year.[2]

Johnson signed with theNew Orleans Saints as anundrafted free agent following the2020 NFL draft on April 27, 2020.[5] He was waived during final roster cuts on September 5, 2020,[6] and signed to the team'spractice squad the next day.[7] He was elevated to the active roster on October 24, October 31, December 5, and December 12 for the team's weeks 7, 8, 13, and 14 games against theCarolina Panthers,Chicago Bears,Atlanta Falcons, andPhiladelphia Eagles, and reverted to the practice squad after each game.[8][9][10][11] He was signed to the active roster on December 19.[12]

Johnson played in 14 games (starting 2) for New Orleans in 2021, accumulating 159 yards and 4 touchdowns on 13 receptions.[13] In 2022, Johnson played in 16 games for the Saints, hauling in 42 receptions for 508 yards and a career–high (and team–high) 7 touchdowns.[14]

On March 11, 2023, Johnson signed a two-year contract extension with the Saints.[15] He played in 13 games (starting 11) for the Saints in 2023, recording 37 receptions for 368 yards and 4 touchdowns.[16]

On June 13, 2024, it was announced that Johnson would undergo foot surgery, causing him to be questionable for the start of theregular season.[17]

On March 12, 2025, Johnson signed a three-year, $30.75 million contract extension with the Saints.[18]

Johnson is aChristian.[19][20] He is married to Chanen Johnson. They have two daughters.[21]
