June 2010 California elections
Elections were held inCalifornia on June 8, 2010. Fivepropositions and twospecial elections , one for aState Senate seat and the other for aState Assembly seat were on the ballot. Primary elections for allstatewide offices , a seat to theUnited States Senate , all Californian seats to theHouse of Representatives , all of the seats of theState Assembly , and all even-numbered seats of theState Senate , along with the first round election for the nonpartisanSuperintendent of Public Instruction were also held.
Proposition 13 is alegislatively referred constitutional amendment prohibiting the reassessment of property values due to seismic retrofitting work.

37th State Senate district special election [ edit ] The seat of the37th State Senate district was vacated byJohn J. Benoit after he was appointed to beRiverside County supervisor on November 30, 2009.
A primary election was held on April 13, 2010. Since no candidate won a majority, the candidates with the top votes for each party appeared on the ballots for the special election.
43rd State Assembly district special election [ edit ] The seat of the43rd State Assembly district was vacated byPaul Krekorian after he was elected to theLos Angeles City Council on December 8, 2009.
A primary election was held on April 13, 2010. Since no candidate won a majority, the candidates with the top votes for each party appeared on the ballots for the special election.
