Julie Greenwald (born 1970[1]) is an American music industry executive. She is the former chairperson and CEO of theAtlantic Records Group.[2]

Early life

Julie Greenwald was born in theCatskill Mountains inNew York. She graduated fromTulane University in 1992 with a double major in political science and English.[3]

Career

Greenwald's contributions at Atlantic include helping to launch the careers of artists includingBruno Mars,Ed Sheeran andCardi B. She got her start as a music executive atDef Jam Recordings in 1992 and became president ofThe Island Def Jam Music Group in 2002.[4]

In 2004, she was named president of Atlantic Records and in 2006, was promoted to chairman and COO of Atlantic Records. She was named chairperson and CEO of the Atlantic Music Group in 2022.[5][2] Greenwald announced she planned to step down from her position in January 2025.[6]

Greenwald was married to formerMTV120 Minutes host andKROQ dj Lewis Largent until his death in March 2023. The couple has two children.[13]
