Juan Carrillo is an American politician.[3] He serves as aDemocratic member for the39th district of theCalifornia State Assembly, which includesPalmdale,Lake Los Angeles,Adelanto, andVictorville.
Carrillo was born inMexico. At the age of fifteen, he emigrated to the United States. He attendedGarfield High School,College of the Desert andCalifornia State Polytechnic University.[4]
Carrillo is a former member of thePalmdaleCity Council.[4]
In June 2022, Carrillo easily defeated former State AssemblymemberSteve Fox and Andrew Rosenthal in the non-partisan primary election for the39th district of theCalifornia State Assembly. In November 2022, he defeated Paul Marsh in thegeneral election, winning 56% of the votes.[5] He succeededLuz Rivas and assumed his office on December 5, 2022.[6][7]
