Juan David Cabal Murillo (born 8 January 2001) is a Colombian professionalfootballer who plays as aleft-back forSerie A clubJuventus and theColombia national team.
Cabal started his career with Colombian clubAtlético Nacional, helping them win the2021 Copa Colombia.[1] He played 50 games in all competitions for the team.[2]
On 20 August 2022, Cabal signed forSerie A clubHellas Verona.[3] In his first season, he played only twelve games and was used as a back-upcentre-back.[4] Cabal played 30 minutes in the relegation play-off game againstSpezia, which Verona won.[4] Cabal emerged during the second half of the 2023–24 season, where he was deployed as aleft-back inMarco Baroni's four-man defence.[4]
On 18 July 2024, Cabal joined fellow Serie A clubJuventus on a five-year contract.[2] In November that year, he sustained anACL injury in his left knee which sidelined him for the rest of the 2024–25 season.[5]
On 10 September 2024, Cabal debuted for theColombia national team a2026 World Cup qualification against Argentina at theEstadio Metropolitano Roberto Meléndez, replacingYerson Mosquera in the 88th minute; the match ended in a 2–1 victory for the Colombians.[6]
Initially a centre-back, Cabal later developed into aleft-back with a strong physique.[4]
