Jesus "Jsu"Garcia[1] (/dʒeɪˈzuː/[2]), also credited asNick Corri (born October 6, 1963), is an American film and television actor and producer. Together with authorJohn-Roger, he runs the production company Scott J-R Productions.
Garcia was born in New York City as Jesus Garcia, toCuban immigrant parents.[3][4] He attendedFairfax High School where he studied acting.[5]
His first role was on the TV showFame (1982), where he used the stage name Thom Fox.[4] He then appeared in his first filmWes Craven'sA Nightmare on Elm Street (1984).[5] This was followed by an appearance inUniversal'sGotcha! (1985),[5] and then in features such asWildcats (1986),Slaves of New York (1989),Tropical Snow (1989),Vampire in Brooklyn (1995), andTraffic (2000). In 2002 Garcia was inRandall Wallace'sWe Were Soldiers (2002) in which he portraysMel Gibson's heroic friend, the commander of a company fighting against the Viet Cong; and inAndrew Davis'Collateral Damage (2002), in which he plays a villainous Communist guerrilla who battlesArnold Schwarzenegger's character. In addition to appearances on TV shows, includingJAG (1995),Arli$$ (1996),The Facts of Life,Miami Vice,Babylon 5,She Spies,Crossing Jordan andMurder One (1995), Garcia also played the male lead in anABC /Touchstone pilot,Then Came Jones, and had a recurring role onWithout a Trace (2007). Garcia also played a supporting role inAlong Came Polly (2004). Garcia played revolutionaryChe Guevara inAndy García'sThe Lost City. He took part in the 2010 documentary filmNever Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy discussing his roles in various films in theElm Street franchise. Garcia portrayedFrancisco d'Anconia inAtlas Shrugged: Part 1 (2011), based onAyn Rand'snovel of the same name.
Garcia has also acted in theater including a production ofGrease and won aDrama-Logue Award for his performance in the playShort Eyes.[4]
Garcia is an ordained minister in theMovement of Spiritual Inner Awareness, founded by John-Roger.[3]
