TheJournal of the American Chemical Society (also known asJACS) is a weeklypeer-reviewedscientific journal that was established in 1879 by theAmerican Chemical Society.[1] The journal has absorbed two other publications in its history, theJournal of Analytical and Applied Chemistry (July 1893) and theAmerican Chemical Journal (January 1914). It covers all fields ofchemistry. Since 2021, theeditor-in-chief isErick M. Carreira (ETH Zurich).[2] In 2014, the journal moved to ahybrid open access publishing model.
