TheJournal of Political Ideologies is a triannualpeer-reviewedacademic journal covering the analysis of politicalideologies.[1] It was established byMichael Freeden and first published in 1996.[1]

The journal's host is the Centre for Research into Ideas and the Study of Political Ideologies (CRISPI) at theUniversity of Nottingham.[2] The journal publishes research on the theoretical and conceptual aspects ofpolitical ideology, and on the nature and roles of particular ideological practices.[3]

Based on 2023,Scimago Journal Rank is 0.343.[4] Its 5 yearimpact factor in 2023 is 1.6.[5]

Since August 2023, it has been edited byMarius Ostrowski, Research Fellow at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies,European University Institute.[6] The Associate Editors comprise former Editor Mathew Humphrey,[7] CRISPI co-director Hugo Drochon,[8] and CRISPI members Sean Fleming[9] and Maiken Umbach[10] from theUniversity of Nottingham, Eloise Harding[11] from theUniversity of Southampton,James Meadowcroft fromCarleton University, andMarc Stears fromUniversity College London.[12]
