Josh Wolf (born 1969)[2] is anAmericancomedian,actor, andwriter. He has written for a number of sitcoms, includingAll of Us andCuts. He is best known for his regular appearances on the round table ofE!'s late-night talk showChelsea Lately. Wolf hosted theJosh Wolf Show in 2016.

Early life and education

Wolf isJewish. He grew up inMassachusetts.[3] He is an alumnus ofTrinity University in San Antonio, Texas.[4]

Career

He was introduced to comedy at the age of sixteen, doing an entire set about his parents'gas. Having moved toSeattle, he became a spokesperson forNintendo and interviewedBill Gates for an internal film forMicrosoft.[5] He moved once more to Los Angeles and was spotted while doing a one-man show at theHBO Workspace. He signed a two-year deal withABC to develop his own television show, but it was never broadcast.[6] He instead concentrated on writing for sitcoms such asUPN'sAll of Us andCuts.[5]

Wolf was a regular on the round table of E!'s late-night talk showChelsea Lately.[7] He appears as one of the comedians on the "Comedians of Chelsea Lately" stand-up tour,[8] and has previously appeared as the warm-up act forChelsea Handler.[citation needed]

He also appeared as a finalist on thefourth season ofNBC'sLast Comic Standing in the "Last Comic Downloaded" segment, he was beaten byTheo Von.[9] In 2012, he worked on an untitled project forFox, starring himself as a single father.[10] It was to be a semi-autobiographical show, being based in part on Wolf's experiences as a single dad.[11] He has also sold a book toGrand Central Publishing.[6] Wolf has sold a script toAdam Sandler'sHappy Madison Productions based on the true story of a traveling youth baseball team which was used as a cover for the robberies committed by its coach.[12] On July 20, 2012, he began hosting a weekly podcast with fellowChelsea Lately regularRoss Mathews calledJosh and Ross.[13] That same year, Discovery Channel hired Wolf to hostShark After Dark.[14] In September 2013, Wolf began hosting his own podcast on the Toad Hop Network calledOff the Rails with Josh Wolf.[15] As of 2015, Wolf hosted a podcast with Sarah Colonna calledOff the Rails with Josh Wolf and Sarah Colonna.[16]

On June 11, 2015,The Josh Wolf Show, a late-night talk show which he hosts, debuted onCMT.[17]

Personal life

He has been married to director and writerBethany Ashton Wolf since 2004 and has two children from a previous relationship and one adopted son, Jacob.[11][18] His cousin is formerParty of Five actorScott Wolf.[19]
