Joseph Helffrich (12 January 1890 inMannheim,Baden – 1971) was a Germanastronomer.
He did his Ph.D. dissertation in 1913 at theLandessternwarte Heidelberg-Königstuhl (Königstuhl Observatory, near Heidelberg) at theUniversity of Heidelberg[1].
At the time, the observatory at Heidelberg was a center forasteroid discovery under the direction ofMax Wolf, and during his time there Helffrich discovered a number of asteroids.
