Josef Čada (30 March 1881 – 1 December 1959) was aCzechgymnast who representedBohemia andCzechoslovakia inMen's Artistic Gymnastics.[1] He made his World Championships debut in 1907 at thethird World Artistic Gymnastics Championships inPrague, where his team won theteam all-around competition. Čada also competed forBohemia in the1909,1911, and1913 Championships, winning team medals.[2] No individual medals were awarded in the world championships until 1922, but Josef Cada is retrospectively recognized by both theFIG[3] (the official governing body of the sport ofArtistic Gymnastics) andUSAG[4] (the official governing body of the sport of Artistic gymnastics within the USA) as the 1907 World All-Around Champion in the sport of Artistic gymnastics.

He competed in the1908 Summer Olympics individual all-around gymnastics competition forBohemia, placing 25th. AfterWorld War I, Čada returned to competing and representedCzechoslovakia at the1920 Antwerp Summer Olympic Games, where he placed 4th in theteam all-around competition.
