José Omar Acevedo (born December 18, 1977) is a retiredright-handedMajor League Baseballpitcher who last played for theBaltimore Orioles organization. Acevedo played previously with theCincinnati Reds from2001–2004 and theColorado Rockies from2005 to2006. In his five-year career, Acevedo has a career record of 18–25 with anERA of 5.74. He is a cousin ofHall of Fame pitcherJuan Marichal. He has no relation to pitcherJuan Acevedo, as he is fromMexico. Acevedo was released by the Baltimore Orioles on March 12, 2007.[1]
