Jordan Ian Wright (born 27 February 1999) is an English professionalfootballer who plays as agoalkeeper forEFL League Two clubNewport County.

Career

Nottingham Forest

Born inStoke-on-Trent,[2] Wright began his career withNottingham Forest, spending time on loan during the 2016–17 and 2017–18 seasons withAlfreton Town andKettering Town.[3] In November 2018 he signed forGrantham Town on loan,[4][5] and in September 2019 he moved on loan toNuneaton Borough.[6]

He returned on loan to Alfreton Town in December 2019.[7] The loan was extended in February 2020.[8] He also moved on loan toAlloa Athletic in January 2021,[9] and toHereford in October 2021.[10]

Lincoln City

He signed permanently forLincoln City in January 2022,[11][12] making his debut for the club on 5 March 2022, appearing as a late substitute following an injury to first-choice goalkeeperJosh Griffiths.[13][14] Wright's performances impressed, although the club was searching for a replacement for Griffiths.[15]

In September 2022 he was nominated for theEFL Cup Player of the Second Round, following his display againstBarrow, saving three-penalties in a shootout and denying several attempts during the game.[16] He signed a new 2-year deal, keeping him at Lincoln City until the summer of 2025 on 19 April 2023.[17]

Grimsby Town

On 14 June 2024, Wright joinedGrimsby Town on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee.[18][19] He made his first appearance for the club in Grimsby's first league match away toFleetwood Town.[20]

On 7 May 2025, Grimsby announced the player had been transfer listed.[21]

Newport County

On 30 June 2025, Wright joinedNewport County on a free transfer.[22] He made his debut for Newport on 12 August 2025 in the starting line-up for the 1-0 EFL Cup first round defeat to Millwall.[23]
